We are honored and humbled to share the first image of this project- two minds, two hearts, and many months in the making.
Taewee Kahrs and I created this photo-series, inspired by the approaches of Rupi Kaur's milk and honey and Audre Lorde's work in biomythography, with the intention of building a space for survivors to recognize themselves in the healing process, to find their strength mirrored here in this celebration, pain, and vulnerability, and to honor the non-linearity of the journey.
This is the beginning: this series is a never-ending process of building new roadmaps for self-recognition. Of translation, hard work, and survival.
In the coming weeks, Taewee and I will be sharing more information about "Coming Home: Milk, Honey, Healing," and how to be part of the movement. So stay close, stay tuned, and stay soft.
This is a pathway home.
